What started as a local celebration in our small corner of the Pacific Northwest is now blooming into something bigger, and more beautiful than we ever imagined. The Olalla Lavender Festival is thrilled to be connected to not one, but two sister lavender festivals in the heart of Provence, France!
Through these joyful partnerships, we’re creating a bridge of fragrance, friendship, and festival spirit between communities who share a deep love for lavender, nature, and gathering together in celebration.
From handwritten postcards to festival-goers in France, to exchanging cultural traditions, stories, and blooming inspiration, this connection is all about people, community, and shared joy.

Grasse: L'Instant Lavande
Nestled in the hills above the French Riviera, Grasse is internationally renowned as the perfume capital of the world.
For centuries, the region has cultivated some of Provence's most treasured aromatic plants, transforming lavender, rose, jasmine, and other botanicals into the fragrances and extracts that have shaped its global reputation. Historic perfume houses such as Galimard continue to preserve and celebrate this remarkable heritage.
Today, Grasse proudly hosts L'Instant Lavande, a celebration dedicated to supporting local lavender growers and honoring the traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of this iconic flower. The event brings together producers, artisans, visitors, and lavender enthusiasts in a shared celebration of Provence's lavender heritage.
Our friendship with Grasse grew from a shared passion for lavender, culture, and community storytelling. We are honored to be included in their international cultural trail and proud to strengthen the connection between Provence and the Pacific Northwest through our sister festival relationship. Together, we celebrate the enduring beauty of lavender and the friendships it inspires across borders.

Valensole: Fête de la Lavande
Valensole is one of the most iconic lavender-growing regions in Provence, renowned for its breathtaking purple fields and generations of lavender cultivation. As one of France's most celebrated lavender destinations, it represents a living heritage where agriculture, tradition, and community come together each summer in a spectacular display of color and fragrance.
The village comes alive during its annual Fête de la Lavande, a beloved celebration featuring local producers, artisans, music, cultural traditions, and, of course, the lavender that has shaped the region's identity for generations.
Our friendship with Valensole is rooted in a shared appreciation for lavender, local makers, community gatherings, and the simple pleasures that bring people together.
